Reading – We will continue our unit which is called “Keep Trying”. The next two stories are called “The Kite” and “Hare and Tortoise”.

Vocabulary Words
“The Kite”: meadow, thud, joke, watched
“Hare and Tortoise”: tortoise, plodding, pace, hare

Spelling words – The spelling words are associated with the two quizzes.
Few, use, cue, huge, fuel, fawn, dawn, yawn, saucer

Reports – The spider report is due Tuesday, February 7th. On Tuesday, a reptile report will go home in your child’s folder. You may help your child research the information which can be found on the internet and/or in books. The report is due Tuesday, February 14th. Please make sure that you list which sources you used on the back of the paper.

Writing – We will work on writing a make-believe story and learn how to identify pronouns.

Math – We will take the unit six test on Friday and begin working on unit seven.

Science – A true and false test on spiders and insects is on Tuesday, February, 7th. We will learn about the differences between reptiles and amphibians. The study sheet will go home in your child’s folder on Tuesday. The test will be on Tuesday, February 14th.
